Throw Aways

A British-India couple went through the IVF process-which is not easy-a C-section birth and then abandoned their babies because they were the wrong sex. I guess we can be grateful the babies weren’t murdered-although I have a feeling that if this couple knew the sex of the babies before birth, they would have aborted them.

What’s even worse is that they are not the only ones to do this-it is a trend in Britain right now:

“Last year, research revealed that between 1990 and 2005, about 1,500 fewer girls were born to Indian mothers living in England and Wales than would have been statistically probable for this group.

In the Nineties, 112 boys were born for every 100 girls. Between 2000 and 2005 this rose to 114 boys for every 100 girls.

A report last year revealed Indian women in Britain are travelling to the subcontinent to use the services of IVF doctors who for 4,000 rupees (about £49), will reveal the sex of an unborn child and recommend someone who can terminate the pregnancy.”

Because children are just made to be thrown away, right?

May God have mercy on us for allowing this abomination to happen. I also pray that these girls will find a good loving home together.

We run a home for abandoned and orphaned babies in South Africa. They are abandoned as a result of the AIDS pandemic as well as socio-economic reasons. In fact we just got a 3 week old baby today. These children are precious and it saddens me that babies worldwide have become disposable. Never has life meant so little that it can be discarded. I have 3 of my own boys and like I say to them, I love them so much that my heart hurts, and yet how many parents miss out on the wonders of their own flesh and blood. What a sad thing it is to miss out on the joy of a child.
