Positive Prayer

Now that Pesach and the Feast of Unleavened Bread is over, I can get back to posting.

I had a prayer request come through a list today. The request was asking for prayer for someone with an illness. What I found odd was that the request was for “positive prayers only”. I’m not even sure what that means….if someone prayed earnestly for God’s will to be done in this case and that person either died or had to deal with the illness for the rest of their life, would that be considered a positive prayer?

Is this person part of the name it claim it belief? I don’t know, but it sounds like they might be. And what will happen to this persons’ faith if their positive prayers aren’t answered? What will they do?

I don’t know if the person asking for this has ever been around someone who is undoubtedly dying. I have, and sometimes the best prayer for that person is that God would take them soon, without a lot of pain or before their pain gets worse.

Most other people I know that have been through this get to a point where they would rather have the person die than continue to suffer in pain. I am sorry if that sounds harsh, but it is true. And you can only understand that if you’ve been through it yourself.
