Organs and Chips

There is some interesting news from across the pond. The first bit of news is that the U.K. now wants to take organs from people without their or their family’s consent.

“The Government will launch an overhaul of the system next week, which will put pressure on doctors and nurses to identify more “potential organ donors” from dying patients. Hospitals will be rated for the number of deceased patients they “convert” into donors and doctors will be expected to identify potential donors earlier and alert donor co-ordinators as patients approach death.”

If patients can be determined as donors, then the hospital and doctors do not have to treat them for their illness. All they need to do is keep them alive long enough to take their organs from them.

China does this to their prisoners as well.

The second bit of news is that the U.K. wants to chip, or tag all their prisoners. The article makes it seem like it would only be used for certain types of offenses, but the article also says this would be used for control inside the prisons as well. Which means every prisoner, regardless of crime would be chipped. One person said they they can track cars, why not people? Umm, because people and cars are not the same.

And, contrary to what we’ve been told- that chips cannot be duplicated:

“Consumer privacy expert Liz McIntyre said a colleague had already proved he could “clone” a chip. “He can bump into a chipped person and siphon the chip’s unique signal in a matter of seconds,” she said.”

If you have committed more serious crimes and have one of these chips, why not wait to bump into someone that has done lesser crimes and siphon their chip and information? Then when a crime is committed, the other person gets all the blame and the real criminal can go on causing mayhem.
