PLEASE don't wear 'product' in the pool unless you really have a water tight swim cap (almost nobody does). I constantly encounter conditioners and hair gels in the pool, I can taste them, I am ingesting them.

Many people are chemical-sensitive.

At least consider not using conditioners and also rinsing perfumes and deoderants before entering the pool.

By the way, completely wetting your hair very thoroughly BEFORE exposure to chlorine prevents the hair from absorbing, since it has already absorbed the plain water first! :-)

Thanks for the tip. I struggled with pool hair for a while and finally just bought some special swim shampoo because I couldn't stand the sticky, brittle feeling my hair got every time I got out of the pool. Maybe when this runs out I'll try the baking soda. I also got some special leave-in swimmer's conditioner that I really love and seems to work well.
